For microwave ovens, induction cookers, hair dryers, these are often linked to the“Radiation” problem of the products, the release of experts on-site use of instruments for testing demonstration.

According to the national standard detection method, the instrument was placed at a distance of 30 cm from the level of the induction cooker, showing an electromagnetic radiation value of about 1.5 μt (electromagnetic radiation unit: Micro-tesla) , when the instrument was placed on the edge of the induction cooker, the value quickly changed to 27.4. The electromagnetic radiation of hair dryers and microwave ovens is large, mainly between 2 ~ 10 μt, and there are 4 batches of hair dryers whose electromagnetic radiation exceeds 10 μt. However, according to the relevant standards, the radiation value of these small appliances are within the safe radiation limit.

But experts also remind that consumers use electromagnetic radiation larger household appliances, time is not too long, use also to maintain a certain distance, reduce the harm of electromagnetic radiation. Consumers are concerned about the microwave oven microwave leakage problem, experts also carried out a test. The results showed that 50 batches of microwave ovens were in accordance with the relevant standards.

The quality of small household appliances is not optimistic

The provincial quality supervision department tested the electrical safety of these products and stainless steel products such as health indicators of lead, cadmium, chromium, nickel and other heavy metals precipitation. The sampling of these small kitchen appliances were purchased from large supermarkets, electrical stores, large markets and e-commerce network. In addition to the kitchen small appliances, the provincial quality supervision departments also spot-checked hair dryer, induction cooker and microwave ovens and other small appliances.

Of these, 70 batches of hair drier products were sampled and 55 batches were qualified, with a pass rate of nearly 80% . However, the qualified rate of hair dryer online purchase unsatisfactory, only 60% . The qualified rate of induction cooker is high, reaching 86.7% . Unexpectedly, the qualified rate of induction cooker on e-commerce platform reaches 94.4% , which is much higher than the qualified rate of 83.3% in supermarkets and home appliance stores.

The qualified rate of safety performance of induction cooker is 100% , but the qualified rate of energy efficiency index is only 86.7% . The main problem is that the measured value of thermal efficiency in the energy efficiency index is lower than the standard limit or the declared value. “False energy efficiency standards are a common problem in the home appliance industry,” said Guo Yanping, deputy director of the Appliance Testing Center at the Jiangsu Institute of Product Quality Supervision and inspection. “Manufacturers will use false energy efficiency standards to improve the competitiveness of the industry.”.

The main problems of unqualified hair dryers lie in the problems of false rated power and excessive continuous disturbance voltage. At the press conference, Xiang Bin, technical director of the national food packaging product quality supervision and inspection center, introduced that 90 percent of juicers and soya-bean milk machines do not list sub-materials and stainless steel brands, and there are 3 batches of soybean milk machine shell manganese content is high, up to about 10% .
